SURFACE-LAID, DIRECTIONAL-FRAGMENTATION ANTI-PERSONNEL MINE
BODY:
Olive drab moulded plastic. M-RUD is similar in appearance and construction to the US “Claymore” series. A single layer of 650 steel balls, each 5.5mm in diameter, is encased in a plastic liner set across the inside of the front face of the mine.

Height 90mm + approximately 120mm legs, Length 230mm, Wight 50mm.
TOTAL WEIGHT:
950g.
EXPLOSIVE DETAILS:
900g plastic Pentrite.
FUZE TYPE AND ACTIVATION:
Command detonation via an electric firing cable or tripwire activated. Electric detonator for command detonation. UMNP-1V fuze or UPMR-2A fuze when mine is set for tripwire activation. When command detonated, a manual inductor generates the power required to fire the electric detonator. When tripwire activated the UPMR-2A fuze is inserted into the fuze well and pull of approximately 3kg will operate the fuze and initiate the mine.
SAFETY FEATURES:
No built-in safety features.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS:
M-RUD is normally found laid on the surface of the ground, mounted on its inverted v-shaped legs, or fastened to trees or buildings. On initiation the steel balls create a lethal arc of 60° for 50 metres in front of the mine. There will be a fragmentation hazard for 300 metres in front of the mine, 125 metres to the sides and approximately 25 metres behind.
