 On 18 May 2011 Dr Nabeel A. Shaath, the Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council and Mr Faraj Zayound, Coordinator for International Relations at “FATEH” visited ITF. Mr Dorijan Maršič, ITF Director, Mr Goran Gačnik, ITF Deputy Director and Mr Iztok Hočevar, Director’s Advisor for International Relations gave short presentation on ITF and results achieved so far, with emphasis on projects “Rehabilitation of Children from Gaza” intiated by President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Danilo Türk and “Telemedicine Network for Middle Eastern Countries”.
Dr Shaath briefly presented situation in Gaza together with some ideas for future projects and expressed sincere gratitude to all donors and ITF for all support that has been provided to his place of birth. ITF Director presented plans for future ITF work in Gaza, which will be more focused in securing better rehabilitation support and services on the ground in Gaza. Dr Shaath expressed his full support for the presented initiatives.
 Dr Shaath and Mr Zayound also visited children from Gaza at the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (URI-Soča) that are currently receiving rehabilitation treatment within the framework of project “Rehabilitation of Children from Gaza”. Children were very happy for the visit and used time to take photos. MSc. Robert Cugelj, Director of URI-Soča also used this opportunity to present to Dr Shaath and Mr Zayound the facilities of URI-Soča and the excellent work they are doing with domestic and foreign patients.
