Problem Statement

Lithuanian Ministry of National of Defense (MoND) possesses old and unserviceable ammunition surplus, which needs to be demilitarized. Lack of national demilitarization capabilities required to conduct demilitarization capabilities out of the county. Some limited demilitarization capabilities are needed for demilitarization of small amount of ammunition and for regular ammunition maintenance and surveillance procedure.

What we do

ITF has been provided with funds for assisting in disposal of old and unserviceable ammunition surplus and to build national demilitarization capabilities. Ammunition surplus has been demilitarized abroad using industrial capabilities by method of reverse engineering. Old military facility has been repaired and furnished for the purpose of demilitarization activities. Purchasing of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and protection equipment is in the process.  ITF manages project funds and verifies implementation of destruction activities.
