Awareness Campaign on Socio-Economic Reintegration of Mine Victims in Armenia

On 09 December 2011, the ITF in partnership with the IOM Armenia initiated awareness raising campaign on socio-economic reintegration of mine victims and persons with disabilities in Armenia. Additionally, the campaign strives to promote development cooperation efforts in Armenia and to contribute to the regional cooperation and confidence building efforts in the South Caucasus.

As part of the awareness raising activities, the ITF and the IOM Armenia carried out news conference at the United Nations House in Yerevan on 09 December 2011. The news conference also featured presentation of the documentary film “A Way to Reintegration” produced as part of the ITF run project “South Caucasus Socio-Economic Reintegration Programme for Mine Victims”. The event received substantial media attention and was covered by the several news agencies (Arka, Photo News, Armen Press and Novaya Vremya). In the subsequent period the documentary film will be broadcasted all over Armenia.

The awareness campaign activities in Armenia have been supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation /Austrian Development Agency through the ITF.
