16.06.2005
Information day was first joint hearing of the Development, the International Trade and the Foreign Affairs Committees- via the Subcommittee on Security and Defence. Hearing was organized with the purpose to raise awareness about the problem of landmines among members of European parliament.
Director Dorijan Marši? and Deputy Director Goran Gacnik used this opportunity to present to PM's landmine situation in the regions of South East Europe and South Caucasus as well as to inform them about the work and plans of ITF in the field of Mine Action. ITF also promoted regional cooperation among mine affected countries in the region of SE Europe which would contribute to more rational use of funds and capacities and faster eradication of landmine problem. For that reason also director of Croatian Mine Action Center, Mr. Jungwirth and director of regional Mine Detection Dog School, Mr. Hagimujagic participated on the event.
