ITF Coordination Meeting in Bosnia and Herzegovina


In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina ITF organized a Coordination Meeting for all the donors and stakeholders of Mine Action in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was held in Hotel Bosnia in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina where ITF representatives presented achievements in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period of 1998-2009 and perspectives according to ITF strategy for 2010-2013.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Valentin Inzko, High Representative and EU Special Representative (HR/EUSR) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the EU Delegation in BIH, EUFOR, the Embassy of the United States of America, Embassy of Austria in BIH, Embassy of Norway to BIH, Embassy of Japan to BIH, Embassy of the Czech Republic to BIH, Embassy of Sweden to BIH, Embassy of Swiss, Embasy of the Slovak Republic to BIH, Embassy of the Belgium to BIH, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in BIH, Embassy of the Republic of Hungary to BIH, BIH Federal Ministry of Health and Director of BH MAC.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Dorijan Marši?, ITF Director who at the beginning of the meeting presented a plaque to H.E. Mr. Valentin Inzko and gratitude for the generous support to the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance also in previous years.
H.E. Mr Andrej Grasselli, Ambassador of the Republic Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced that the Government of Slovenia will continue to support the work of the ITF in Bosnia and Herzegovina and wider due to the achieved results that can be seen in the field.
Mr. Dorijan Marši?, Director of the International Trust Fund (ITF),  Mr. Goran Ga?nik ITF Deputy Director and Mr. Roman Turši?  have presented the results of ITF for period of 1998-2009, with special emphasis on achievements in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as strategic goals and plans for period 2010-2013.
Mr. Dorijan Marši? pointed out that in period from 1998 - 2009 ITF has implemented over 145 million U.S. dollars of donor funds in Bosnia and Herzegovina that enabled the clearance of over 52 milion square meters of land and support to many mine victims assistance programs.
