ITF visit to South Korea

On 12 June 2015, Ambassador Damjan Bergant, ITF Director visited Seoul, South Korea where he met with Mr. Dae-jong Yoo, Director General for International Organizations and Mr. Lim Soo-suk, Deputy Director General for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Korea.

South Korea is among the most important members of ITF’s donor community. Since 2000 it has allocated more than 760,000 USD for different mine action activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Azerbaijan, rehabilitation of mine victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gaza, and regional cooperation in Central Asia.

Ambassador Bergant thanked the Government of South Korea for their support and contributions so far and expressed wishes for further cooperation with ITF. New concepts and programmes of ITF activities in various regions around the world were also outlined.
