Official Opening Ceremony of the demining activities at the locations Pretis NIS in Municipality Vogošća, BH

Government of the Republic of Austria allocated EUR 420.000 for demining and technical survey activities on 297.000 square meters at the 16 locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Locations are situated in the areas of municipalities Vogoš?a, Bratunac, Donji Vakuf, Bugojno, Krupa at Una and Velika Kladuša.
 
On 06 December 2010, an Official Opening Ceremony of the demining activities at the locations Pretis NIS in Municipality Vogoš?a was held, on which Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr Donatus Köck, attended.
 
Opening ceremony was also attended by Mr Selmo Cikoti?, Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Representatives of the Austrian Development Agency, EUFOR, Demining Commission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vogoš?a Municipality, representatives of BH MAC, Federal Civil protection, Civil Protection of Canton Sarajevo, representatives of  Pretis, local Community, media stations and ITF.
 
Company Amphibia (Contractor) & UXB Balkans (Subcontractor) presented methods of demining activities at the locations to participants. Works on the Project are planned to last from December 2010 until April 2011.
 
So far, the Government of the Republic of Austria has, through ITF, donated over EUR 4.5 million for mine clearance programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as for mine victim assistance programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.
